'Dying to Cross: The Worst Immigrant Tragedy in American History' by Jorge Ramos. Sadly, I feel like reading this book will open many people's eyes to the risk and danger that so many people are so willing, and even desperate, to expose themselves too in order to gain entry into the United States. Jorge Ramos rarely preaches as he recounts the disturbing story of a journey for 60 or so Mexicans, Guatamalans, and Hondurans that went terribly, terribly wrong. A journey that ended with the unnecessary deaths of 19 people, including one small child. The book itself is written as one would expect a journalist with passion to write. The stories are clean and touching, and when Ramos has doubts about any aspect of his tale he tells you, which is rather refreshing. | ||||||||
